The Marin Senior Information Fair is pleased to announce the 2016 Nancy Martin Award winner: Seniors At Home, a division of Jewish Family and Children’s Services (JFCS).

Founded in 1850 as the Pacific Hebrew Orphanage Asylum and Home Society, by a group of concerned San Francisco citizens, the venerable institution now serves Marin and San Francisco counties and the Peninsula. They are the oldest charity west of the Mississippi.

JFCS currently offers over 40 programs. Seniors At Home is the largest of these and has been serving people of all faiths and backgrounds for a quarter of a century.

From something as simple as monthly bill paying and dealing with medical insurance claims, or providing 4-24 hours a day, vetted caregivers, bonded and insured, JFCS’ Seniors At Home offers options. These include: Non medical home care: including personal care assistance, homemaking and companionship; case management—including helping seniors without nearby family, to navigate longterm health planning, housing and community resources; offer dementia help at their Center for Dementia Care which provides education and emotional support for families and care givers. Fiduciary guidance, healthcare advocacy, or trust and estate management services are also available to clients.

‘JFCS’ Seniors At Home is a pioneering community-based palliative care program in Marin and across the Bay Area serving people of all ages facing chronic or serious illness. They provide end of life emotional, spiritual and physical support to clients and their families.

Scholarships or a sliding fee scale may be available for low-income seniors who qualify. For further information about services, please call our centralized intake at 415-449-3777, or visit Booth 135 at Steppin' Thru the Looking Glass!"
