In 2011 we begin our second quarter of a century. At the Fair, seniors, their families and caregivers discover the diverse organizations and businesses that support the needs and interests of older people. The event also provides a variety of free health screening tests, flu shots, all day entertainment and more. There is another aspect too: the Fair is a wonderful place to meet new people and socialize with friends. The Marin Senior Information Fair celebrates and caters to seniors of all ages, their families, and their caregivers.
Who Puts On The Fair? A group of 15-20 volunteers from Bay area businesses, local nonprofit organizations and retirees from around the County work all year to plan the Fair and to raise funds to support the annual event. We present an event that entertains, informs, supports, celebrates and honors our senior population.
Who Pays For The Fair? Exhibitor booth rental fees cover approximately 40 percent of event production expenses. Approximately 135-140 booths are leased to non-profit and for-profit organizations and businesses. The balance of our funding is made up by generous contributions from the County of Marin, Marin Independent Journal, Infinity by Comcast, United Markets, and organizations such as The Tamalpais, Drake Terrace/Kisco Senior Living, Alma Via, Sutter Care at Home. The generosity of these and other supporters makes the Fair possible each year. Visitor admission is free.
